The Kyoto Protocol is an international document adopted in Kyoto, Japan on 11 December 1997 to supplement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This document is an international agreement to control global warming, committing signatory countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to protect the climate. It has been valid since 2005. It was adopted by 192 participants, and fully in 2019 by 134 countries.
